Where Has All the Snark Gone?

5 episodes! That's how long I have waited for my
facetious and sardonic Chloe from season 1 to return,
yet still no show. What happened to the snarkastic
flippy-haired reporter I knew and cherished in S1 and
why did they replace her with this pod person
who resembles someone else on the show that (I won't
mention names ) complains all the time and has no
curiosity, investigative drive, or discernible
personality? (I just hope S2!Chloe doesn't start
talking about dead parents!)

       When I first watched Vortex I yelled at my poor  TV the entire show and for a good half hour afterwards,  trying to make sense out of what had happened to my favorite inquisitive journalist. After a couple days of contemplation I went into denial, blaming my frustration on the fact that I read too many great fanfics over the summer about Clark and
Chloe getting together after Tempest. I figured I just
set myself up for a major disappointment.

       I convinced myself everything would be great in
Heat and Chloe would be back to her old intrepid self
and be wondering why Clark can shoot odd shaped
streams "stuff" out of his eyes, or at the very
least be curious about him being present at all the
fires. This was not to be, and instead it was LANA who
took off with Chloe's weirdar and questioned Clark
about the fires.

       Why must the writers of the show change our
most beloved character into someone we don't even
relate to, or even like!?! I know that Gough and
Millar are majorly obsessed with KK/Lana but they are
taking it WAY to far. How can you have
Chloe go from having more air time than Lana (Crush)
in  S1 to her Wanna-Be-Pete 3 lines per episode in S2?
Did they think we wouldn't notice? Or maybe they
thought that we just wouldn't care because they gave
all of Chloe's best attributes to the other female
on the show and left Chloe with nothing. All of a
sudden it's a  Presto-Chango, Chloe is now Lana
and Lana is now Chloe. Just because they couldn't
give Lana a personality to began with they felt the
need to hijack Chloe's!

     I want my Old School Chloe from Season 1 back
with a vengeance. To me it's pointless to watch
Smallville without her and all the Chlarky goodness.
Without it I almost dread watching my TV on
Tuesday's for fear of choking on the Clana. I hope
TPTB shape up soon and give us back our Season 1 Chloe
or my TV might have to go into therapy from all the
yelling!
