Trowa Barton

History/Brief Bio

Trowa grew-up as a solider, basically. He was raised from a group of mercenaries and couldn't remember his name - hence his name "Nanashi" meaning "No Name"...pretty sad really. In the manga they basically imply that Catherine is his real sister. (She lost her brother, Triton, and her parents in a fire at the circus as a child.)

What I have heard on an approximate nationality would be some form of European (and that would fit as they have two Asian, One Middle Eastern, and one American (N&S here) already) derivative. Most of the time, I've seen it as possibly French. I'm not sure if this is backed up anywhere tho.

During Operation Meteor he adopted the name of the assassinated real Trowa Barton, the uncle to Mariemaya. Later, he pretended to switch sides and work for OZ. In Endless Waltz, he is convinced to keep the name Trowa Barton by his fellow pilots although it is seemingly obvious that he is truly Triton Bloom.

Anyways, Trowa has many skills - he plays the flute (where and when did he obtain this talent?), he appreciates Heero's sense of humor, he has an uncanny knack for stating the obvious that the audience may or may not get, and he pilots Heavyarms! Besides, he's really understanding, kind, and cute.

Physical Appearance/Physical Manifestations

Trowa is the tallest of the five gundam pilots on the show. He is the only character on the show to have pure green eyes (Quatre has sea foam, Relena has aquamarine) which is notable in the sea of blue eyed and semi-blue eyed people. In the circus, Trowa wears a half mask and during the rest of the series his bangs in a similar way (to hid his face and who he is). Trowa early on talks about having no name, of having no one live to talk about him, and I think his hair is just another layer to hid or even disguise himself.

His body type is very different than even his fellow pilots. In Endless Waltz where we see Buff!Trowa, who from that point on seems to be the strongest (muscle-wise) of the five pilots. Also, his skin tone is more olive/tan which would equate more to outside (probably physical based on that scene) labor. This also makes sense because with ther mercenaries and with the circus it would be a large group-like living commune where each person would need to pull his or her own weight.

As stated earlier, his mannerisms all seem to try to blend in. Unlike Zechs, Trowa's voice is cool and calm 99% of the time. His battles, especially his early ones, were always based on precision not emotion. Later, as Quatre seemingly looses his humanity (and Dorothy seemingly has none), Trowa finds his own and his fights change. they become more battles of protection than distruction.

Emotions/Personality

Trowa isn't one to talk unnecessarily and I think that is also why he is partially misunderstood, but ...he does talk a lot! That's why they hired Kirby Morrow! ^_^. What he has to say is very important...but people take his silence the wrong way. Some say he was raped and that is why he is more reserved that say...Duo. I don't believe this is the case. As a child, he was raised by mercenaries and didn't have a real identity. He wasn't completely silent, but he was more contemplative. He observed, rather than rush through it.

Also, as time goes on we see that while Trowa isn't nearly the emotional extremes of any of the other four, he appreciates life. He enjoys Heero's dry sense of humor and the sense of family that the circus (most specifically Catherine, and maybe Manager) bring into his life. Trowa seems to emphasize on this, probably due to the fact that he was a loner most of his life.
