Believe me, I hear it all the time. What about Quatre, they say. Why not 3x4? Well:

1. Libra is when we truly find out about her and it was Trowa - not Quatre - who helped to change her
2. Because of the drastic changes already forming at the end of GWing in her personality in part due to him
3. And the follow up of the changes in Endless Waltz

The 3x4 thing never worked for me. I always see Quatre as the sheltered young boy who never got to have friends, much less another boy his age to grow up with. Lonely in his own right. Trowa had always been alone, with out a family at all. Quatre saw similarities and clung. "Friend Trowa!" he said. Friend, as in friendship is how I have always interpreted it.

Quatre, I'd rather see him with some one who pushed him in a good way. Hilde could do this. Relena could from a friend basis. Noin could. I think he'd concentrate to much on trying to 'fix' Dorothy that it wouldn't make for a good relationship. Relationships built on trying to change or mold people aren't healthy. On to Trowa & Dorothy tho...

Physically their looks contrast and blend nicely. Dark to pale... it's a shades of gray kind thing. Contrast in physical terms. A lot of similar blending of back grounds (lack of family, brought up in huge groups, forms of mind control, ect.) Dorothy needs some one willing to step up to her when she needs it, support her when she lacks confidence. She relies a lot on bravado and swagger while Trowa clings to being the outsider, contrast. But they aren't afraid to switch sides for a goal, they aren't afraid to do what it takes to get the end result. Both believed (while not at the same time) that the ends justified the means. They have enough contrast to keep it interesting, enough similarities to be there for one another.

Now, time for some other people's opinions:

I think Dorothy and Trowa would look soooo cute together! I mean, Trowa did sort-a helped her through conversation after she hit Quatre on the Libra. Trowa is also a good height.-Emmy

Um, since we're deciding couples, as much as I love my Trowa, I want him with Dorothy. They make a way better couple than Dorothy and Quatre. No offense to the Q-man or anything but he's to much of a wimp for a tough gal like Dorothy. Trowa can handle her...quite well actually. --Cat Missiga
